PlayPact™GAMES FOR FRIENDSMystery Market

Talk. Bid. Reveal.

Mystery Market is a browser auction game for 3–8 friends on voice chat. Start with 500 pretend coins each. Play ten rounds; most points wins.

Your hosting turn

Hosting rotates through the group. Bring an internet find: paste a web link, an image link or plain text. Add a title and choose 0–100 points. You can keep the item covered until the reveal. Submit it to lock the item and its points. The host sits out bidding on their own round.

Bid through the website

After a short preparation phase, the host opens bidding. Bids start at 10 coins and increase by at least 10, in multiples of 10. You must afford the full bid and cannot outbid yourself. All accepted bids are binding; spoken bids alone do not count.

The server runs a 30-second timer. A valid bid in the final five seconds resets the remaining time to five seconds. Only the winner pays. No bids means discard and reveal.

Reveal and pass the host seat

Once the timer closes the auction, the host clicks Reveal. The winner collects the item and its attached points. Then Next lot passes hosting to the next player. Nobody is eliminated, even with zero coins.

Winning

After ten rounds, highest points wins, then most remaining coins. Still tied? Answer memory questions about revealed items. Most correct answers wins; any remaining tie uses a disclosed server random draw. Unused coins never become points.

Practice and the original food auction

Practice uses clearly labelled strategy bots and an automatic auctioneer with the original curated mystery-food deck. Choose a faster bidding window or skip preparation/reveal waits. Bots do not see covered values without Sneak Peek.

The original food game includes Sneak Peek, Coupon, Second Serving, Plate Swap and Lid Lock. Only one proactive power per player per lot; defensive Lid Lock reactions do not count. Custom friend items do not secretly invent powers.

Voice, reconnecting and sharing

Use Discord or your own voice call. No Discord login is required. Refresh the same browser to reconnect; accepted bids and purchases remain valid. If a host disconnects, a connected bidder can take over. Shared result cards exclude room codes and concealed data.

Coins are pretend, cannot be bought or cashed out, and carry no real-world value. Pasted finds are game props; no real item changes hands.
